Kennedy turns 2!

What can I say about Miss Kennedy?  She is sooooo 2!

She's very independent and determined.  She adores her sister but she will not be pushed around by her.  She can be really talkative and active but she has to be very comfortable around you before she'll do it.  She's a great cuddler but hugs and kisses are rare.    

We had a party for her at my mom's house along with my sister-n-law, both sisters, and brother-in-law's birthday--all March birthdays together!

I made a little cake for Kennedy and Bake Pops for everyone!

We had another party for her with Ryan's side of the family.  

We are always just laughing at this girl!  Love her!

California Dreamin'

The Academy of Dermatology held their meetings this year in San Diego, California.  Usually, Ryan goes on these trips first and I join him later on for fun.  But by the time I got to New Orleans last year he had already had enough sight- seeing around town and I hadn't even started!  So this year we went backwards.  We would drive out there Friday and Saturday, we would spend a few days playing and then the girls and I would fly home while Ryan stayed for the rest of the week's worth of meetings.  Now---try explaining to these two how the rental car place wouldn't let us pick up our car until 4:00!!!!  It was a long day to say the least!

We arrived Saturday in the late afternoon and Audrey couldn't wait to swim in the pool.  It was really sad because our hotel had 5 swimming pools and it was so cold outside that I think we lasted about 20 minutes.  Audrey kept saying it wasn't bothering her and she probably would have stayed in until hypothermia set in, but we talked her out eventually.  On Sunday we went to the beach.  We rolled up our pants and gave it a try.  The water was beautiful and the wind made the waves very unpredictable.  So Audrey's pants were quickly soaked and she wasn't interested in ever leaving.  Kennedy didn't really want to do anything but hug. 

We found out that the Children's Museum is free every other Sunday so it was crowded but pretty cute.  They have a lot of exhibits dedicated to reuse and recycle (leave it to California!). 

These tiny chairs were a hit with the kids of all ages.

Right outside the museum was this beautiful pond with just a few ducks lazing around.  The girls really thought they'd get these ducks to touch them eventually.

This area with the trees and grass and the walkway along the ocean was across the street from our hotel.  The location of our hotel was perfect.  We were right up against the ocean and down the street from Sea World.  The only problem is the sound of seals going nuts way too early in the morning. 

Monday was the long-awaited day...Sea World!!!

You had to be 45 inches tall to go on this ride and Audrey just barely made it!  I wasn't sure she would handle it well, but she loved it so much she made her dad go twice!

The Shamu show never disappoints!

Audrey and I both liked the Sea Lion show the best.
