Business/Pleasure trip to San Antonio

Ryan and a few others from his office had a conference in San Antonio from January 30th to February 4th. Audrey and I were lucky enough to go with them and PLAY!!!
This is a picture in front of the Riverwalk on the San Antonio river. We spent time on the river every day that we were there partly because we loved it so much and also because our hotel was right next to it.

This is Audrey at the Children's Museum during "Mommy and Me" playtime one day.

After a long day of playing, there's nothing like sitting back and reading a good book in the hotel room!

The Big ONE!

For all the moms out there that have been through this, I hope you can relate...
I wanted Audrey's first birthday party to be amazing. I wanted Audrey to be ecstatic and to enjoy every minute. I wanted everyone to have a good time and to think I was somewhat organized. I guess I wanted it to be perfect. Well, it was so much fun and our family was so great to help and to be excited and get Audrey great stuff. The only problem was Audrey being completely overwhelmed I think.

We sat her in front of her cake and SHE CRIED. I am not sure what she was upset about, but she wasn't going to eat it. This is not at all like her!
All was well once she got to play with her toys and she really had a blast on this scooter.

I have to put a picture of this beautiful cake that my mom and sister made. It was hard to cut!

The first steps of many

A week before Audrey's birthday, she decided it was time to walk. It's not graceful and she's still not a huge fan, but we are so excited for this huge step (no pun intended) in Audrey's life.

First Christmas

We all had so much fun with Audrey's first Christmas. Audrey was (of course) spoiled, Mom opened twice as many presents as normal and Dad was on camera duty. Since Ryan's parents moved to Lehi we had less driving time and more family time. I think my favorite part was when Ryan and I stayed up late getting Audrey's presents ready for when she woke up. I hope I feel that way for years to come!

A Huge Success!

Audrey's first BYU football season was a success in more ways than one. The first is that she made it through every single game. The only one she didn't "sit" through was the first when it was over a hundred degrees. Mom and Audrey spent a lot of the time under the bleachers for that one. The second way was that BYU went undefeated in Conference and won the Conference title for the second year in a row. We had so much fun and we know this will be a family tradition for years to come.

For Audrey's first Halloween, she was a lady bug. She was a pretty cute lady bug, I have to say! We visited both sets of grandparents and they were thrilled with her. She somehow knew that it was picture time and she sat and posed for as many pictures as we wanted to take.

One step closer to walking!

Very soon after Audrey started to crawl, she realized she could also stand and even walk as long as she holds on to something. She's one step away from walking (literally). She is so proud of herself.
